Roadside Service

It is a good idea to have a credit card that is used for nothing but emergencies. That protects you from the situation of needing major repairs but not having enough credit on your ‘regular’ card to cover it.

None of the most well-know roadside service organizations or automobile insurance companies will deal with trailer breakdowns, with or without horses. There are three companies that do.

All three companies provide similar basic assistance. Check to see if their network of suppliers operate in the area where you will be traveling. Appreciate that in more remote areas, none of the companies may have contracts with local repair shops. In those cases, you are often required to foot the bill and be reimbursed. All three companies offer benefits including discounts for hotels, equipment, clothing, and dining. They also offer the option of having non-tow vehicles added to the policy for an additional fee.
