Seahorses? The Horse Lovers Summit on the Sea

One of the chapters in Riders of the Certain Age tells about all of the fun horse-centric activities you can enjoy when not in the saddle. One of the best is the Horse Lovers Summit on the Sea Cruise. It’s in January when most places are too cold and miserable to ride in any way. But this cruise sails to Mexico. Your other passengers are fellow horse lovers and guest experts from the horse world who will entertain and inform you during seminars and informal meetings.

Who’s on the schedule: Debi Metcalf, founder of — the premier organization for tracking and finding stolen horses, Ashley Avis, director of the Disney Black Beauty, and experts in nutrition, animal-related law enforcement, riding coaches, and animal trainers from movies and TV.

The dates are Jan 28-Feb 2, with the ship, the Carnival Valor, sailing from New Orleans. Details are on the Horse Lovers Summit website: You can also check out this video preview of the mischief that might happen on the cruise.
