Looking for TV shows and streaming services featuring horses and horse educational material?
Here are some of my favorite horse-centric television options.
“It’s like Netflix for horse people.” That’s how Horse.TV describes itself. Movies, documentaries, TV shows, and training videos. 7-day free trial, then a nominal monthly feel. (www.horse.tv)
Total Horse Channel covers all equine topics. One of the neatest features is the “categories” section. It breaks down videos by breeds and disciplines. You can also upload your own videos. (www.totalhorsechannel.com)
The Horse Network Channel on YouTube constantly adds to its library of videos. Many are of competitions, but there are also educational videos. (https://www.youtube.com/c/HorseNetworkVideo/featured)
Based in The Netherlands, Horse World TV debuts a new video every week. Very high-quality production and interviews with top riders and trainers, mostly in dressage and hunter\jumper and mostly European. Free trail (3 days), then about $15\month, depending on the exchange rate with the Euro. (Most automatic pay systems, like Venmo and PayPal handle that automatically.)
There are also several cable TV networks, like RFD-TV which carry programs by trainers. Check your local cable listings for what it available.
